Quality and Humanity in Health

Southland DHB is responsible for most public hospital and health services in Southland.

We provide health services directly from our own facilities and staff. These services are managed through Southland DHB's 'Provider Arm'  (this includes Southland Hospital, Lakes District Hospital, and Southland DHB's Mental Health Services).

We also fund health services in the region, by contracting with other health providers to deliver specific health services for our community. These contracted services are operated by independent health organisations, which manage their own services and staff.

This website section provides information about health services available in Southland and how to access those services.
