 One DHB Consultation 

The Southland and Otago District Health Boards (DHBs) are consulting our communities and staff about whether they support or oppose having one DHB in Otago and Southland - rather than the current two DHBs.

A submission can be made in several ways, including attending one of the public meetings scheduled during November 2009 and stating your views, which will be recorded.

People can also send a written submission to Viv Allen-Kelly EA to Regional CEO Private Bag 1921 Dunedin 9054 by 5pm Friday, 11 December 2009. People can also complete the electronic questionnaire through the link http://feedback.osdhbs.govt.nz

The DHBs will also consult with Maori through established runanga relationship links. People may attend hui in Otago and Southland. Details of the meetings will be determined by the runanga.

The DHBs will also be holding a series of consultation meetings for their staff.

All questionnaires and submissions will be collated and summarised into a report for the DHB Boards to assist their decision-making. A copy of this report will be made available on the Southland DHB and Otago DHB websites.

Regional Clinical Services Concept Stage II (January 2009)

The Otago DHB and Southland DHB Regional Clinical Services Concept (Stage II) Paper has been given Board approval to proceed with the steps given in the paper.  The paper outlines the feedback from the consultation process which occurred late last year, confirms the vision, goals, principles and categories of regional clinical services, and provides clear steps on how to proceed given the feedback.
